This Privacy Policy explains what information Vif ("Vif", "we", "us") collects when you use the Vif app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Vif is a social and dating app for adults 18 and older.

2. How we use it
- To run the Service: creating your profile, showing you to nearby users, matching, messaging, and notifications.
- Safety and moderation: enforcing our 18+ requirement, reviewing reports, moderating content, verifying profile authenticity (selfie check), and preventing fraud, spam, and abuse.
- Purchases: validating subscriptions and delivering paid features.
- Improvement and support: debugging, understanding usage, and responding to your requests.
Support messages are used only to answer you and to fix what you told us about. We keep them while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. What other users see
Your profile (name, age, photos, bio, prompts, interests, approximate distance) is visible to other users as part of the Service. Your date of birth, email, precise location, and birth details are never shown; only your age and approximate distance are displayed. Messages are visible to their recipients.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and operate our infrastructure: Supabase (database, authentication), Cloudflare (media storage/CDN), Apple (payments, push notifications), and our email delivery provider. They process data only on our instructions.
- Legal: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
- Business transfer: if Vif is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred with appropriate protections.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Your account → Delete account); this permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, and related data from our production systems, with residual copies removed from backups on a rolling basis. Some records may be retained where required by law (e.g. purchase records) or to enforce our Terms (e.g. records of bans). Verification selfies are used solely to confirm your photos and are deleted once your account is deleted.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting [email protected]. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (TLS), row-level security on our database, scoped credentials, and server-side verification of purchases. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique login and report any suspected breach to us.
8. Children
Vif is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we enforce a minimum age both in the app and at the database level. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact [email protected] and we will investigate and remove the account.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The current version is always available at this page.
